SOAK is an architecture and design studio founded by Alastair Selven ARB RIBA. Based in South London, the practice works on residential refurbishments, extensions and new homes across Peckham, Camberwell, Dulwich and wider London, alongside selected projects elsewhere in the UK.
Our work is shaped by close attention to light, proportion, material and everyday use. We work with Victorian and listed buildings, conservation areas and constrained urban sites, combining careful alteration of existing fabric with contemporary additions.
We work with natural, breathable materials including timber, lime, cork, wood fibre and stone, alongside fabric-first environmental design, to reduce embodied and operational carbon and create comfortable, durable buildings.
As a small practice, SOAK works closely with clients from early feasibility and planning through technical design, construction and completion.
The studio is currently welcoming enquiries for projects beginning in 2027.
